Pretty In Pink

-

Monday's Motto: Hustle for all of the pink!

I have been a little under the weather lately and it has been hard for me to get motivated now that I am feeling better. It has been the hardest transition back to the land of the living after a weekend of being cooped up in the house.

Luckily, my brother and I share this quote with each other when we need a little motivation in our lives. "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work harder." It's something our Father instilled in us from an early age. If you want it, go and get it, no one is going to hand it to you.

So here I am, getting back to work and sharing this look with all of you! It is my favorite bodysuit of the season and I paired it with my favorite high waisted denim leggings. We shot this looking in NYC at Fashion Week so I threw on my favorite (and inexpensive) sandals and my Hermes belt that I picked up on The Real Real.

I think you'll enjoy this dressy casual look for so many occasions.

NYC > Adulting

-

Ugh, adulting is the WORST! I have been stressed out all week because my car lease is up! Don't get me wrong I love my Ford Edge but I am at a crossroads in my life. If you listen to our radio show then you know (at some point - for a very brief moment) I was considering a minivan.

Yuck! #Momlife. Now I know many people have and love their minivans but it's just not for me.

Thus, in the wake of having my minivan meltdown, I somehow convinced myself the opposite side of the spectrum would be fun. A four-door Jeep Wrangler?

Here is my issue. I know Dallas and I want another baby in the next few years. I also know that a Jeep probably isn't the most practical vehicle for a newborn, but if we were EVER going to do it, now would be the time. Cash is old enough to sit in a big boy car seat and loves to be up high.... but baby number 2 is still in the back of my mind. You can see my struggle, right?

I know what I should do is forget the whole thing and go get myself a nice practical Ford Explorer with three rows and call it a day but that White Jeep is calling my name.

I went to look at both the Explorer and the Wrangler this week and the decision-making process is giving me a headache. Pass the wine, please.

Can we just not adult for like 3 minutes and pretend we're back in NYC where the hardest choice I had to make was if I wanted a Dirty Martini or a Vodka Soda at dinner? Speaking of NYC how adorable is this little embroidered dress from Fabrik Birkdale? It's perfect for any time of year.

I styled this look for spring transition with a pair of over the knee boots but you could pair it with wedges for the summer or rock the boots and a jacket for fall/winter.

NYFW : Luxe Angel and Alice McCall

We interrupt this regularly scheduled vacation for a New York City flashback.

Good Sunday morning dolls! Dallas and I are on vacation in Park City, Utah and gearing up to hit the slopes for day 2 of skiing. However, I wanted to share with you all a look I loved from our New York Fashion Week adventure.

This casual black and white look is from Luxe Angel Boutique and the sweater was fun to layer with this white bell sleeve button down. It gave this outfit a sweet yet business texture. Thus, you could wear this ensemble to the office or to dinner with friends.

Since it was pouring on our last day in NYC I chose to go a little edgier with my hair. I used jell and water to slick back the top of my hair to better work with the wet weather and I think it only added to the New York City vibe.

The black distressed jeans are also from Luxe Angel. If you have never been to L.A. you are missing out! They have an entire denim bar, and if you can't find what you're looking for there, they probably don't exist.

Since this blog post is inspired by NYFW I also wanted to share with you some darker looks I loved from the Alice McCall show. I cannot wait for these looks to come to life this fall!

NYFW : Happy Valentine's Day

-

"On Wednesdays we wear pink!"

Happy Valentine's Day lovers! I hope everyone is extra festive today. I shot this Red Dress Boutique look this weekend in New York City. I was in between fashion shows at fashion week and wondering around Soho Manhatten when I stumbled along the cutest little cafe! Pietro Nolita is a tiny adorable eatery that specializes in healthy Italian cuisine. Upon entering this perfectly pink paradise everything is pink as far as the eye can see, and their motto is (and I quote) "Pink as Fuck"! I was in love! The food was great and their pink champagne cocktails were even better.

While I waited for my blogger friends the owner of the restaurant came over and introduced himself, as he does for all of his patrons. What a great business owner!

Outside of this little gem, there is a beautifully graffitied wall dedicated to breast cancer awareness. It's a free place to shoot but they ask that you make a donation in the name of cancer awareness. Such a cool idea! My mother-in-law is a breast cancer survivor so of course, we made a contribution!

This was such a fun look to shoot. I love a good comfy top and this "comfort calls" oversized top is the perfect mix of cute and casual. It also comes in a TON of colors. I paired this fuchsia look with a pair of white jeans with a frayed finish (there are only 2 pairs left). I threw on my favorite pair of hot pink earrings and strappy sandals that are also from Red Dress and I had the perfect V-day look, but let's be honest this outfit is cool for the summer too!

Of course, I was in New York to see as many fashion shows as possible for after a quick lunch and an expedited photoshoot, I was off again. One of my favorite designers of all time is Christian Siriano. You may know him from Project Runway, and his designs are show-stopping.

Christian is what I consider a celebrity designer and his shows are a celeb hotspot! Laverne Cox, Whoopi Goldberg, Meg Ryan and Cardi B were all in attendance. His fall line was gorgeous, as always, and carried a "Handmaids Tale" vibe. Here were some of my favorite looks from the show!

NYFW : Luxe Angel and Dan Liu

Yes, today is Galentine's Day, but I was lucky enough to celebrate early with my girls in NYC this weekend at New York Fashion Week! We were all there to collect content during the day and since we are all such different bloggers, everyone was on opposite ends of Manhattan creating content that we knew you all would love! At night, however, we would all meet up for a fashion show and head to cocktails and dinner from there.

Nobu, Lavo and Beauty & Essex were all crowd favorites! If you are ever in the city they are definitely worth the trip! All of them are super swanky. Nobu is high-end sushi, Lavo is Italian and Beauty and Essex is an eclectic little spot with tapa style dishes. The shishito peppers are to die for!

During the days, I hit as many fashion shows as I could fit in. When you're running all over the big apple there are 2 goals in mind, comfort, and fashion! Especially when it's NYFW!

This dark blue linen top with tie sleeves and light blue jeans are both from Luxe Angel Boutique in Charlotte. It is an adorable little boutique over by the Southpark Mall. They have some AMAZING looks and I will be doing a try on session from there this Friday, so stay tuned.

I love how this whole look came together! I found the jeans first at their denim bar (there are so many to choose from!) and I wanted something laid back since I knew I would be in and out of cabs and Ubers all day. This linen top was perfect and the color is even more amazing in person. I knew it would be a staple in my closet and one that I will be able to carry all the way into summer. I paired this look with a pair of taupe sandals and my new Gucci belt which I also picked up while doing a little shopping in New York City.

Out of all the fashion shows, I saw Saturday morning in Manhattan, the Dan Liu show stuck out to me. Dan featured a Mission Impossible theme with an Audrey Hepburn twist. Dan's fall line is going to be mesmerizing! His looks are so diverse but still strung together by a common feminine string. Here are some of my favorite looks from the show!

NYFW : Red Dress Boutique and Custo Barcelona

-

Live life in color. That was my motto day one of fashion week in the big apple.

I know when you think of NYC fashion you typically think black, but if you look around the city there is so much color! Time Square is a perfect place to draw inspiration if you're feeling less than creative. Everywhere you look there are bursts of light and brilliant colorful billboards.

Being in New York City made me feel like a Boss Babe and so did this beautiful vibrant orange look from Red Dress Boutique

I opted to pair this adorable dress with a tan thin belt, embordered "Acapulco" light denim clutch, and strappy taupe heels. The shoes run true to size and so does the dress. However, the dress does have an oversized feel so you could size down if you desire a more fitted look.

I also love these "Mesmerize Me" tangerine statement earrings that tied this whole look together.
(Shop this entire Red Dress Boutique look at the bottom of this blog. Scroll down.)

I think we can all agree this is a great look for spring transition and can take you all the way into summer. It was also an excellent ensemble for the Custo Barcelona fashion show Saturday morning.

Custo Barcelona was a show that was nontraditional to the "fall fashions" you are used to seeing in February on the runways of New York Fashion Week. That is because this designer is also inspired by colors and prints. His feel is very Miami and his looks are complex, vibrant and effortless.

The show was held at Pier 51 next to the Hudson River and held hundreds of influencers, buyers, and celebrities who were all wowed with his impressive custom pieces.

Here are a few of my favorite looks from the show.
