NYFW : CRIV and Yuna Yang

    

Even though these photos were fun to shoot this post is especially emotional for me. Yesterday terrible news broke from my hometown in South Florida. The high school my brother attended and graduated from in 2010 experienced one of the 18 shootings of 2018. The news was gut-wrenching for me as a parent and a member of the South Florida community. 

It is so sad to me that this kind of evil exists in the world. Which is why it is so important that we talk to our children and peers about the importance of reporting something that doesn't seem "right". We want our children to feel safe when away from home. We want them to be able to go to school and learn in a healthy environment void of fear. 

The reason I chose to spotlight CRIV and Yuna Yang today is that we need some positivity in the world. This gorgeous Lush brand maxi is available at CRIV boutique in Uptown at the Metropolitan. This maxi dress is actually a romper and was the perfect look for a New York City Theatre show on Broadway. 

The designer I want to spotlight today from New York Fashion Week is Yuna Yang who made a name for herself in 2017 when she released a line inspired by the "Climate Change Crisis". She is a designer that uses her status for good. This year she took on the "Me Too" movement and titled this line "Love Yourself." 

Love is a message I want to spread today. When we as a community have to pick up the pieces after a terrible tragedy like this, it is important to pray for the victims and families who are missing their loved ones.

New York Fashion Week

Well, we're off again! I am just hours away from jumping on a plane and heading home from New York City. This weekend was a whirlwind. New York Fashion Week couldn't have been more fun or more productive! I cannot wait to share all of our stories from this weekend with all of you!

Each day this week I will be writing a blog post about our adventures and the shows we attended. 

There is just something fun and magical about the big apple! Sure it's the city that never sleeps but it just makes you feel like anything is possible when you're there! 

This quick trip was fast and furious. We flew out Friday afternoon and as soon as we reached our hotel we superman changed and we were off to the Sherri Hill Fashion Show. Let me remind you that Kendal and Kylie Jenner have both walked in this show in the past!

It was nice heading to the big apple in a blogger pod. Myself, Tessa Machen, Ashley Beary and Katy from Mumus and Macaroons were a powerhouse running from shows to photo shoots. We had invites to a ton of fashion shows including Alice McCALL, Don Liu, Ennyluap, Yuna Yang and Mac Duggal. Of course, you can only make so many shows in 3 days. 

While I board this flight and gather my thoughts and photos from this weekend, here is an outfit that I packed for fashion week for day 1.

Unfortunately, this exact romper is sold out but I found an adorable Asos romper that is pretty close. It's by Missguided and it might even be cuter than the original. I paired this look with a pair of over the knee boots. There is still a little chill in the air so I'm not quite ready for pumps. I also added a statement earring to pull the black from the boots.
