Happy Years Eve

Good Morning Brunch Babes and Happy New Years Eve!

My family and I are bidding farewell to 2017 by going to brunch at Upstream today, and although I am not wearing this little number to brunch I wanted to share it with you while I get ready for my day. It is limited stock, which might be great news for you because it is on sale for $30!

It runs pretty true to size, although if you want it to really hug size down. I opted for my true size, that way I could wear a simple long sleeve t-shirt under the dress during the colder months. Call it my tribute to Cher from the movie Clueless.  (That's a 90's reference for all you youngsters.)

Although I wouldn't typically style suede on suede, this look was perfect for a pair of black Stuart Weitzman's or any pair of over the knee boots for that matter!

Hide and Seek

-

I am dealing with a major dilemma this morning! My Christmas tree is dead and I am not ready to take it down. However, I kinda feel like it's a fire hazard at this point!

Our tree didn't last long this year and I will take full responsibility for that. We get our Christmas tree every year on Black Friday. We hop in the car and drive down to Penland Christmas Tree Farm to get the full experience! They give you a hand saw and let you walk through fields of trees until you find the perfect one. They also have a huge fire pit that the kids (and myself) can roast marshmallows on.

Anyhow, we got our beautiful tree home and decorated when my husband had to fly to Florida to do some work to a condo we are selling and I forgot to water the tree while he was gone. It's not typically my duty so it never even dawned on me the dang thing needed water.

Thus, now we have a crunchy Christmas tree with wilted branches that are dropping needles. When the lights are on it still looks pretty (if you squint and tilt your head to the side) but I'm almost positive this tree is one spark away from destroying my life.

While I decide what to do with ole smoky I wanted to share today's look with you! The good news is this "Hide and Seek" sweater is adorable and crazy comfy, the bad news is that it is almost sold out everywhere. So, I have attached a couple different links below in hopes that you get the last few!

Happy Shopping!

A Very Gatsby New Years Eve

-

Two posts in one day? What?!?

I know I don't typically post twice a day (although that is my goal for 2018) but I wanted to share another New Years Eve look with you before it sells out!

A couple years ago my girlfriends and I went to an awesome NYE event in Charlotte that had a Great Gatsby theme. The fashion was AMAZING everywhere you looked! That party inspired me to constantly have my eye out for that art deco glamour that I fell in love with. When I found this look, I knew I wanted to pass it along to all of you.

Not only is it the perfect (extra) little black dress but it is also perfect for New Years! Unfortunately, the black and gold is sold out but they have replaced it with a gorgeous white, silver, gold combo in the same print.

Throw on a great earring from Bauble Bar and a pair of nude shoes and you've got yourself a NYE look girl!

Red Hot Sale Alert

-

I am not ready to give up red, even if Christmas is over!

I found this amazing Free People pullover sweater right around the holiday at Nordstrom. However, I just realized it is on sale at Revolve as well!

Of course, since this velvet dream is almost $80 off right now, I had to share it with you! This pullover has a unique look with dropped sleeves that are to die for! Free People always gets it right! I just love their stuff.

I paired this red merlot sweater with my new Bauble Bar earrings, a pair of medium washed jeans from Fab'rik Birkdale and these showstopping booties!

It's funny. I laugh every time I wear them because I hated my white boots when I cheered for the Miami Dolphins but now they are so in style!

From New Years Eve To The Opera

-

I love a classy outfit that can also be sexy, and this look hit the nail on the head! It's perfect for New Years Eve, but it would also be gorgeous for a night out to the theatre or opera!

This velvet pencil skirt is from Lord & Taylor and although it is beautiful it does run a little big, so be sure to go down a size. The color is so rich and it will be easy to mix and match throughout your wardrobe for the rest of the season.

A good bodysuit is a staple in any closet! It looks great with jeans or a skirt, making it one of the most versatile items you will own. Thus, if you don't already have one pick one up immediately!

Now can we talk about this cape blazer? It is one of my favorite pieces that I own! It took me forever to find one that I love but it legit goes with everything from business to cocktail, and it was only $30!

I paired this NYE look with some simple Kendra Scott stud earrings, a House Of Harlow statement necklace and these gold Jimmy Choo "Lance Wave" strappy sandals that will complete any look year round!

Christmas Eve Casual

-

Let's be honest most of us are still furiously wrapping gifts today. At least I know I am!

My family is visiting Charlotte from Fort Lauderdale, Florida and instead of wrapping gifts ahead of time like a good little girl I have been entertaining them.

Last night I took them out for a night on the town. We started at one of my favorite locations high in the sky, at The Punch Room on the 15th floor of the Ritz Carlton Charlotte. If you haven't been yet, you are missing out! They have some of the best specialty cocktails in the city!

Then we were off to our annual family ice skate at the Nascar Hall Of Fame. Unfortunately, it was unseasonably warm so the ice was melting faster than they could Zamboni it. Needless to say today I am exhausted, so I wanted a look that was polished but easy to wear.

I am loving this whole look from Fab'rik Birkdale. The prices are so affordable and it's comfortable and casual but still special with an amazing plunging back.

Plus, can you ever really go wrong with a great red sweater for the holidays?

Sweater $59, Denim $59 (today only) and Booties $42

The Casual Holiday Party

-

Well, this is kind of sad. Tonight is my last Christmas party of the year.

After today we'll be onto New Years Eve fashion exclusively.

Every year one of my big bosses in the corner office throws a huge casual holiday house party. Of course, I am always so nervous about picking out the proper attire that my fellow ladies will love while trying to stay trendy and "office appropriate".

I came up with this little number and I think all will approve. I found this laid-back suede dress at Ivy and Leo. It's the perfect length and the flowers and ruffle detail keep it fun and fashion forward!

I styled this look with red fringe earrings from Fab'rik Birkdale to compliment the ruffled sleeve and paired it with my red YSL bag to give it a dressier feel.

Matching Christmas Pajamas

-

I love Christmas and every year I see those adorable ads where families are dressed in matching pajamas, and every year I swear we are going to take family photos like that!

Well,  I decided this was our year!

I found these super soft buffalo plaid jammies from none other than JC PENNY! I couldn't believe it! They had a huge assortment of styles and they were so affordable. Of course, Cash gets to rock the onesie but they also offer plaid nightgowns for women and two-piece unisex PJs. They even have pet sets! Poor Woofer isn't doing well this year so we'll let him sit this one out, but if you have a four-legged family member you should totally indulge!

Now I know we are just days away from Christmas and the malls are crazy, but you can order these jammies online and take advantage of JC Penny's free same day pick up! I am all about simplifying life during the holidays!

Merry Christmas!

It's A Celebration!

We have a lot to celebrate today! Today was my last day in the studio for 2017! We are off for the next two weeks, which is great because I can focus on my blog. I feel like I have been neglecting you all, but with good reason!

This past week I have been focused on our fundraising efforts for Levine Children's Hospital and I am happy to report that yesterday we raise OVER $100,000.00 which brings our total for the year to $170,000.00!!!!!

What a great feeling it is to see people come together and donate to such an amazing cause!

LET'S CELEBRATE WITH A BLOG! I had to share this look with you all! This is one of my all-time favorite holiday looks. So classy and you can never go wrong with a great red dress!

Although this Carmen Marc Valvo stunner is out of stock, I have done the legwork for you and found some additional holiday show stoppers!

The below looks come in all price points ranging from $44 - $170. I have arranged them in order from lowest to highest.

Enjoy!
